Update 09/20/2016: Photos from the concert of Nika Afazel (“The nordic wind”)

On Saturday, Nika Afazel held her first concert at the Musicstudio. The listeners got the rare opportunity to hear Scandinavian composers from which they most probably never heard of, such as Wilhelm Stenhammar with truly romantic pieces and Einojuhani Rautavaara with a very modern approach to the piano music. Nika performed brilliantly and gave each piece and each note its own room, as she put her whole musicality literally into the instrument. We hope, that she will give us the great pleasure of listening to her music again soon!

Dear Friends of Music,

the relatively young pianist Nika Afazel plays for the first time in Bonn. Born and raised in Iran , she now lives and studies now at the conservatory in Cologne under the guidance of Prof. Sheila Arnold. She will present an extraordinary concert with Swedish, Finnish and Norwegian composers. Some well-known names such as Jean Sibelius and Edvard Grieg, but also for the concert goers unfamiliar names like Johan Agrell or Wilhelm Stenhammar are in her program. Enjoy a concert with works from the Baroque to the 20th century. We can look forward to a very special listening of Scandinavian music, performed by a young and gifted musician.
